Recently I have been glad to wake up earlier than usual because of this very welcome time change. A lot has changed since summer, hasn't it? Yeah, there's good stuff and bad stuff. Hot tea on foggy mornings? Mmm! A creepy Santa in every store window?Uh....annoying.
On Oct. 30th we drove to Asheville, NC for The Power of the Gospel conference. Every day we learned so much from many great speakers. The keynote sessions were very interesting--each one was on a step of salvation (justification, sanctification, etc.). The speakers were very dynamic and focused, which made for enthusiastic listeners. I was very blessed.
There were a lot of our west coast friends there, and it was so good to see them all! It was like a reunion! Before the conference, the Cox family came to visit as they were driving through, and later the Nichols family did as well. The Cox's will be returning for a longer visit, Lord willing!
The conference center in Asheville was beautiful. We even got snow! And every night there were a lot of fellowship opportunities. Singing, dancing, games. It all continued late into the night. There were many fruitful conversations.
And Saturday night, daylight savings time ended. It felt good to wake up an hour earlier on Sunday without trying! :)
Now we're back home in TN. It's getting colder and Thanksgiving is almost here! And a shout out to all my California friends: we're coming for a visit in less than a month! Leave your lights on and make sure to save me a place to sleep!
